Maximize Your Impact — More Than Half of Your Gift May Come Back to You
The afterschool-centered programming of "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County allows us to be a qualified child care facility under Colorado law. That means your donation may qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit — a 50% state income tax credit, on top of your standard federal and state charitable deduction.
How it works:
Make a qualifying monetary gift to IHDF (e.g., cash, check, credit card, or electronic funds transfer).
IHDF issues you a completed Colorado certificate confirming your qualifying contribution.
File the certificate with your Colorado income tax return to claim the credit.
Highlights and key info
See Colorado Department of Revenue official site for details.
Qualifying gifts range from $250 to $100,000 per taxpayer, per year
The credit equals 50% of your contribution
Your gift may still qualify as a charitable deduction on your federal and state income taxes.
You may benefit from this credit whether you itemize or not
The gift must be a single monetary contribution, paid in full — donations of goods, services, or securities are not eligible
IMPORTANT: Consult a tax expert regarding your particular situation.
